Hi all,
I recently installed latest version of live helper chat, when i try to configure the offline message configuration when agent is offline automatically message goes to particular department.
Please guide me how to configure this.

welcome in the Live helper chat forum and thanks for your first post!
You can configure offline message by going on settings >> live help configuration >> start chat from settings >> offline form settings
Also you have some customization when you create a widget theme (you can change here default showed text)
You also may want configure your department to redirect the user to the offline form when no operator are able to answer the chat so, you can look at:
How to redirect user to contact form if chat is not accepted for some time?
You can consult the Live helper chat documentation if you need other info.

I did the same steps, it's working fine but when user fill the form i am not able to receive any mail.
how to configure mail notification when agent is offline.

Hi,
this is because you may not have configured SMTP in live helper chat so your email sent from LHC goes into SPAM folder.

Hi,
I tried with gmail account but it shows "SMTP Error: Could not connect to SMTP host."
this is the details
Server: smtp.gmail.com
Port: 587
But no luck it's gives an error.

this is a bug, see here https://github.com/LiveHelperChat/liveh … issues/943 and we are awaiting a fix.
You can try to ignore the error message and see if by pressing test you are able to receive the test email.
Please check also in the SPAM folder as the test mail can goes into the SPAM.
Another test you can do is: start a chat from visitor side, close the chat than inside the operator panel goes to the chat list (on the left menu) than open the closed chat, press the mail icon on the chat and try to send an email.

Also please correct your server host:
IS NOT: smtp.gmail.com
but: tls://smtp.gmail.com
as is explained in the official guide I have linked previously.

Hi,
I configured with different server smtp details and try to sent the mail for closed chat it's working fine and mails are arrived to proper inbox. But when i try to send a message if agent is offline it's not receiving any mail to department.
if anything is missed ?

Check to have inserted the correct email in your department:
settings >> live helper chat configuration >> department >> departments >> edit department >> email

I tested. All works with gmail account.
