Number in the queue also when user join

Hi all,
when start a chat, there is the header message: "You are number X in the queue. Please wait...";
the problem is that this text message stays there also when user join the chat 

That message was returned by the GET /chat/checkchatstatus call so I go to see the checkchatstatus.tpl.php file
and is almost full of if else . . .

Can someone help me to understand why this happen?

Means operator is in invisible state and as he opens a chat or sends a message, chat is not assigned to him.
