Installing in a web hosting environment

Looking at the installation instructions, it looks like there might be some permissions that we don't have access to in a web hosting environment.

Has anyone installed in such an environment?

Re: Installing in a web hosting environment

My guess is that is the majority of the use case. Most people do not install this on an in-house server but rely on hosting companies.

Hi davepws,
welcome in the Live helper chat forum and thank you for your first post!

Live helper chat, as major or all live support software need (or is strongly suggested) a VPS or a Dedicated Server for work well and server settings should allow live helper chat to run.
Sometimes the live chat software are incompatible with server settings.

Also consider that some shared hosting forbidden the use of the live chat software because is taking a lot of resources in shared place.
What kind of issue is yours?

Maybe if your hosting can't host a live chat software you need find an hosted solution:

Re: Installing in a web hosting environment

Thanks. I am checking now with the hosting administrator. Should know before too long if there are any issues.

I have been using the free trial from the hosted solution you mention meantime. Actually the paid service isn't too expensive.
Perhaps I can use it for a while until we get our in house server up and running. That's going to depend on how our web sales go.
We're just starting up.

Thanx
