using for a group of librarians?

would live helper chat be suitable for having a patron speak to a group of librarians?  so basically one to many anonymously?

I AM happy to see your interest in Live helper chat.

Live helper chat is a live helper chat for support not for conference however if you open the live helper chat website: https://livehelperchat.com/ if you are from Desktop you will be able to see a smile in the right of the screen.
If you click here you can see a public chatbox where everyone can join.
I think this is not really what you are looking for.

I think you may looking for a conference program like Skype (now supported also in the web) or webinar software who is something different from live helper chat and is more for conference one to many.

PeopleInside - thank you!  skype is what our folks were asking about - I'm trying to find some open source alternatives   do you have any suggestions?

Other software... I don't know, you can look into Internet.
Lot of conference is demo or has a premium paid plan.
