Installation insists that php-pdo extension is not installed

Hello,
If I'm not wrong I can use this product with PostegreSQL instead of MySQL.
I don't have php5-pgsql installed.

As php --ini shows the following ini files exit and are being parsed:
/etc/php5/cli/conf.d/20-pdo_pgsql.ini,
/etc/php5/cli/conf.d/20-pgsql.ini,
However, the installation insists that php-pdo extension is not installed.

P.S.
Is the gd extension installed is also No, is it required?

An update: I've found an old link which says that PostgreSQL has a different branch. I don't know if it's still relevant, but I'll try.
I do see that this branch is old: 2.34v instead of 2.46v, so unfortunately I'll use MySQL.
As for the gd extension, I'll see if the installation insists that it must be installed.
