I am getting very frustrated with the configuration of the XMPP feature...
The only instruction I can find is at https://livehelperchat.com/xmpp-gtalk-x … -222a.html
Firstly, I am using a general work gmail account. I had to set up 2 stage verification on the account and then set up a custom password because I was getting an Auth failed! After several attempts, I am now getting "XMPP message was sent successfully" which I guess is a start.
This is where the whole thing becomes more confusing...
I have my own personal gmail account and have entered my gmail address in the XMPP username section.
I then went to Department settings and under notifications, I enabled Inform about new chats using XMPP messages.
So... theoretically, I have successfully used a work gmail xmpp account. I have saved my own gmail setting on my username. I have enabled xmpp notifications for my department.
Nothing! When a new chat is started, I get no notification so I went back to testing in the xmpp settings. Under test recipients, I put my own LHC username and click "send test message" - still nothing.
Has anyone managed to implement this successfully?
Any guidance would be greatly appreciated.
Richard

Thanks anyway Marco. I can't even get the Skype to work...
Great service though considering it's open source!

Do you mean for Skype? I've noticed that the javascript with the FF window fails completely with "unknwon address". Chrome at least makes some progress but fails on the Skype connection.
If you mean for xmpp, I'm not sure how the admin UI is affected by the browser?

I haven't had any problems with the LHC admin panel or user interface with Chrome.
IE or Edge havn't been tried but hey... who uses them!
I need to configure XMPP to use the feature... I want to be able to chat from a mobile device and the XMPP seems the most obvious choice.

Hi, for chat from mobile device I suggest to use Firefox browser and to access from Firefox the live chat who has also a responsive panel.
Unfortunately I cannot assist with XMPP because I don't use it and so unable to help about this.
Sorry.
As I told also in other post for manage chat from smartphone Firefox is good, the sound of new chat is reproduced also if screen are turned off but Firefox opened in the background on the LHC panel.
