I'm using the latest version of live help chat(pretty awesome by the way) and I keep running across this problem. Whenever a user closes a the chat on a member it shows the following below.
1. When you click on the close button it doesn't do anything. I would like it to go to my index page if possible. Is there a way to set it?
2. Is there also a way that if the user clicks on the close button that if they try to return to the chat that it opens up a new chat?
As of right now whenever I try to go back to the chat I just run into the useless close button. If I close out the window completely then I can restart the chat but that seems a little silly. Thanks for all the help.

Hi Dustin (MemberDustin),
thank you for your post in the Live Helper Chat Forum!
What version of Live Helper Chat are you using?
If your version is older than version 2.40 I suggest to do an update and see if the issue is resolved: close button should work.
You cannot decide where the close button can redirect. Close button will close the chat, you cannot customize this.
The message showed in your screen is not showed if the user close the chat but only if the chat has been closed by an operator.
If you want user start a new chat when click on the widget status you need look into the settings of LHC:
Settings > Live Help Configuration (tab) > Chat Configuration > Misc (tab)
Here you have to check and uncheck the right combination of settings for made what you want. For example check the option "Reopen closed chat as new? Otherwise it will be reopened as active."
Hope it helps :-)
Have a great time!

I'm using version 2.45.
I have the setting you suggested checked already. As long as I'm in the same browser session it will not reset the chat.
So if I can't modify the close button can I modify the text that is used when an operator closes the chat? At least tell the user that they need to exit completely out of the browser in order to start a new chat?

I think your issue is related to wrong settings or have you edited live chat code? Have you put custom CSS on the widget theme?
Please provide to me the URL of your chat.
Also you can find me in live chat at the link in my topic signature.
I cannot help well from where seems.. as my post here not fix your issue.
I think issue can be one of this
- wrong settings
- custom wrong CSS
- your hosting / VPS issue or conflict with your website
without be able to see the widget and the issue is difficult understand what can be the problem.
