Help installing lhc_Web

Hi guys

i have a weird problem

i have downloaded latest git version and uploaded it to my remote webserver. its running apache2 5.5x version

I use ISPconfig to manage my hosts..

so i created specific folder for this livechat test i am doing

so i uploded the folder renamed it to live.

then i made chmod 777 on all folders and files, subfolders etc.etc.etc.

when i browse to myip:port/live

i can see the index folders i then click on lch_web folder and it gives me allways error500 or error 404

if i remove .htaccess file for the website folder i get an error and cannot open none of the index folders..

i have checked etc/apache2/mods-enabled/ dir.conf

and i have enabled all of them  index.html  index.php  index.xthml etc.etc.etc..

i can open all index folder on another site..

BTW if i remove the index.php from lhc_web folder i can then browse all the lhc_web folder via the browser, if i add the index.php again it locks me out again and throws error500

any ideas on what i am missing here?

Re: Help installing lhc_Web

Hi infobarra,
thank you for your post in the Live Helper Chat Forum.

Give 777 permission to all Live Helper Chat folders and files is very dangerous for your server security.
Usually for install Live Helper Chat you need only download the web package and than follow the install procedure:
https://livehelperchat.com/ultimate-tut … -217a.html

If you are getting some errors from your server you are the only one that can check what is wrong by watching on the error log file of your server.
Is also wrong delete a casual file like index.php. Why you remove index.php file inside folders?

If you edit code or file inside live chat without know what you are doing you are breaking code and this can cause issues.
Also your Apache seems to be configured to show files in folders, that's not a good idea.

You should do a search on the Google "disable directory listing apache"
Hope you will be able to solve all your issues smile
