Upgrading from previous versions

Hello,

Yesterday I downloaded the current version of LHC and started to play a little bit with it.
I work in a software house and we are currently considering adopting this product as our new chat, but we need to implement new modules, perhaps alter the database (adding new tables and or fields) and so on.

So my boss's question is: are upgrades safe or they will destroy any enhancements we will do?

What are the directories we should never touch because they will be overwritten every time?

Thank you

Zolletta, aka Veronica

Re: Upgrading from previous versions

Hi zolletta,
some times updates add some feature but create new Bug where before was not.

Usually in 2015 the BUG was fixed fast, now is more slow the process to fix BUG.
Live Helper Chat is one of the best open source live chat tested, better than some paid chat.

Here is explained the update process https://livehelperchat.com/article/view/63
So there are a reply to your post maybe yes is safe, maybe not.. you can have BUG, loose settings I don't think.
