Upgrading Question

This questions are not answered in the upgrading documentation

If doing the via update.php

1. Do you need to clear cache afterwards?

2. You need to delete update.php from root directory.  Does update.php also have to be removed from uploaded /docs/shell folder?

Thanks

Re: Upgrading Question

Hi Creativologist,
I can suggest to backup your working version folder and database of your Live Helper Chat and follow the standard update procedure.

See if all works fine.
If not resume the backup and ask again support to this topic.
Thank you!

Re: Upgrading Question

That is not what I am asking.  I do NOT have an issue.  I am asking 2 questions.

If doing the via update.php

1. Do you need to clear cache afterwards?

2. You need to delete update.php from root directory after upgrade process.  Does update.php also have to be removed from uploaded /docs/shell folder?

Re: Upgrading Question

Thank you for your message and sorry if I have not fully understood.
For now I see only standard procedure suggested without use of update.php

If you want a reply for your question you should wait someone.
I can't help you with that.

Thank you!
Also consider chat owner are very busy.

Re: Upgrading Question

This question isn't that complicated, unless there is a language conflict.
FROM:  https://livehelperchat.com/article/view/63   It says:
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
"Also if you are updating from any older version you can foolow this pattern, you can do this also for new versions.

Download most recent LHC version. Overwrite doc, ezcomponents, lib, modules, pos, translations, design folders.
Copy from doc/shell/upgrade.php file to root folder of LHC
In your browser type chatfolder/upgrade.php, it will update database to the most recent version and clear cache automatically
    Delete upgrade.php from root folder"

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

All I want to know is

1.  Does the file "update.php" also have to be removed from UPLOADED  "/docs/shell" folder too?
