We have seen very high CPU usage linked to LHC. All the forum posts related to this type of problem suggest
1) Disabling automatic message checking
2) Use Nodejs
Could I ask for help in finding where to action the first (I found it) - and somewhere to explain the second?
Thanks
Nigel

Hi Nigel,
thank you for posting your question in the forum!
Nodejs seems to be indicated if you use Co Browsing function in live helper chat,
maybe is not used and make no difference if you use only the chat so if you don't use Nodejs.
Also maybe this is only avaiable under https so your chat should be under https (not sure of this).
You can find the relative settings "Connect to NodeJs in https mode" on
settings > live helper configuration > chat configuration > screen sharing
here if you enable Nodejs you need maybe to install this and than put the patch in the field under called "Host where NodeJs is running".
I can't help to how install Nodejs
Also check under settings > live helper configuration > chat configuration > Visitor activity
the
Interval between chat status checks in seconds, 0 disabled.
you have to set a value same or up to 290, maybe you can try to disable this function or put hight value maybe 300 or 400 and see if the CPU usage is lower.
Maybe if you disable Disabling automatic message checking messages sent from operator to visitor for invitation will be not showed.
Are you in a VPS?
You can think also to use an external live chat or install the live chat on a dedicated server.
