Background color on the basis of operator login and not login

Hi,

I want to change the background color of Chat widget, if operator is not log in. How can i do this?

sorry but I am not able to get exact document for this, There is functionality for user image change on the basis of online or offline. But there is no document for background color change. Please help me...
