Hi,
I was wondering if you would consider to program a sound alert whenever a new visitor comes to the site. This would be a most useful feature!
Thanks!

There is already such feature. In online visitors list, there is two icons where you can enable sound notification for new visitor and browser notification if you want.

Hi,
Thank you for your reply!
I see 2 icons for sound at the top right of my screen.
1. Enable/Disable sound about new messages
2. Enable/Disable sound about new pending messages
Neither of these icons are for ringing a sound when a visitor simply arrives on my website. I do not find the icon for enabling the sound when a visitor arrives on my site. There should be a third icon for this purpose.

Hi,
I made sure that the these 2 icons were set to Green on the "Online Visitor" page but I still do not have sound when a visitor visits my site since I change this setting 5 days ago.
I have my sound on my computer on, but still I do not hear the "Alerts" for new visitors on my site,
www.joomla.ca
Thanks
Michelle

You have to be in online users windows to hear that sound.

Are you saying that I have to have the "Online Visitors" page open and be actually viewing it?:

What happens if I am viewing another page on my computer, but still have the Online Visitors page open in another tab?
Will I still be able to hear the New Visitor alert sound?
thanks
Michelle

Yes, online visitors page have to be open. And yes this page does not have to be active, it can be just a tab.
