See if visitor is still on site

I would like to know if there is a way to see if a client is still on the site or not in the 'Online Visitors' page.

Sorry, but the only indicator at the moment is the last page view user has done.

The main reason we don't have this at the moment is resource consumption's. To have this all the time request should be going to server to indicate that user is online.

I understand your reasoning about resource consumption. I have LHC installed on a VPS so plenty of dedicated resources for me 
Maybe it's an idea to add it as an optional setting that can be activated?

Yes, that would be good. I have filled this issue, so as soon it will be fixed you will have it. You can subscribe to the issue on github to receive notification then it will be closed.
