Many request to my server

Hi there everyone!
I’ve installed  the chat on my server. I’ve been checking two days ago together my webmaster and we’ve seen that too many requests have been done to the server. We were looking for info, first we supposed that maybe it could be an attack, and then we found that maybe the proactive chats would do this? Is it right? Help

Proactive checks every few minutes is there any new message from operator you can disable it.

Set to false in your embed code.
check_messages : false,

Or if you want to disable it completely you can disable it
proactive : false,

Hello. I have the same problem. The chat makes a lot of requests, sometimes 2 requests every second. I am having problems with the number of PHP requests on the hosting due to the chat. I changed to proactive: false but it didn't help.
Please tell me what it can be and how to change it.
