what the tools I need to customization the lhc?

I am a system develop and I need a new function to classify the order costumers, for example
by category of service,

What I need install to develop with the live helper chat,

I know I need php, appache, mysql, but have other components and the start use the any framework?

What you install to develop another functions or every function are develop in hand on?
