upgrading from 2.73 to 3.08 database issue

I am trying to update form 2.73 to 3.08, but when i check for update message shows that there is no update in database but when i download and update live helper chat there are various new tables and updated columns is database. Please suggest.

Hi crashedbyme,
have you tried to do the database update after replace the necessary files?
Have you followed the tutorial for upgrade from old version to the new one?

If the issue persist I suggest to try a new installation and transfer settings or you can contact the commercial support.
