MySql vs PostgreSql

Hello

I am a developer trainee in a company that wants to add a Help Chat, like yours, in one of its online applications.
However, instead of MySql we would like to use PostgreSQL. The problem is that when I tried to implement this option there are errors, for example, in the script that will populate the tables. This is a matter that I still need more time, but before I do that, I would like to know if the application is still compatible with using PostgreSQL and if I could count on your help.

Regards
Eunice da Silva

Re: MySql vs PostgreSql

I've did several search about PostgreSQL in your sit/forum.
I tried to install it but I stopped to try and continued with MySql (due to priorities at the time).
Beyond the errors presented in postgresql.sql sad , what worries me is that the brunch is so old. That's one of the reasons I started this dialogue, before returning to this task tell me, to use PostgreSQL I would have to use the chat/brunch of 3 years ago, is that it? If the answer is yes, I have to analyze what are the differences, and that does not seem like an easy task tongue .
Thanks

I have more questions, beyond the last one did, one of them:
I would like to know which versions of postgresql and php are compatible with the version of chat postgresql branch. Do you know this answer?

Re: MySql vs PostgreSql

Hi ehds2018 , consider that free support are limited.
Chat owner is very busy and i cannot reply to this technical question unfortunately.

Free user can use the documentation or, if need more deep and custom help, can consider to donate to this project with a commercial support.

Thank you for understanding.
