Send Message from User not sending

Hi,

I have recently installed the application on my hosted website and I am having an issue whereby, after the initial chat, when the user adds more text on their side and clicks Send Message, the users chat window updates but the text of the message remains grey and is not sent to the operator.  The operator can push more  messages to the user & these will update on the users side but the user can't talk to the operator.  Below is an example:

Could you please give me some direction as to what is causing this issue & how I can resolve it?

I have looked through the forum & searched for keywords but can't find a topic similar to this.

Can you try if the issue persist if you use the web interface for operator?

What version of LHC (Live Helper Chat) are you using?
What is version of the PHP?

Hi!  Thanks for getting back to me.

From web interface logged in as operator, when I try to open chat window I get a white screen. The URL points to: index.php/site_admin/chat/single/10

The user receives the auto response & waits. If I type in some text as the user box it appears as greyed out like before.

LHC version 2.80
PHP version 5.5

Hi Philip,
thank you for your message. Seems you are using a deprecated PHP version.

The most old supported PHP is 5.6 so please upgrade your PHP.
Also Live helper chat seems to be not the last version. Last version is 2.96, i suggest to upgrade also Live helper chat
