I am not able to follow these instructions https://livehelperchat.com/operator-to- … -150a.html, the fields that are in my settings are not the same ones that are in the instructions.

You are right, screenshot on the guide is relative a previous version.
You should find the operators icon

This is not good, should be visible by default.
You can go on setting, live help configuration (tab), chat configuration, Misc (tab) than find:
Home page tabs order (field)
and add after , online_operators
