Site gives error : Internal Server Error

Hello,

We had tested the LHC few months back and was working good. We took some time to return to actual use of LHC on our site. Now when we are ready to use the Chat i get the following error.
"
Internal Server Error
The server encountered an internal error or misconfiguration and was unable to complete your request.
Please contact the server administrator, [email address removed by PeopleInside] and inform them of the time the error occurred, and anything you might have done that may have caused the error.
More information about this error may be available in the server error log.
Additionally, a 500 Internal Server Error error was encountered while trying to use an ErrorDocument to handle the request
"

Has anything changed?. I have not changed any Config or updated to your latest Release , It was working before and the LHC module is not working now , strange.
Are there any minimum requirements on PHP ver or extensions.
But previously the code was working and i have not upgraded to latest code.
Any help what i am missing is appreciated to start using LHC

PHP 5.4 is deprecated. You need upgrade your PHP version.

On the latest version of LHC

During install i get below missing

Is the mbstring extension installed No
Is the php-pdo extension installed No

Are these extensions absolutely necessary for working the LHC app? or only just few modules with LHC are dependent on it
