Upgrading from 2.4 to 2.6

Hi,

Wanting to upgrade from 2.4 to 2.6 but wondering if all the settings will remain the same? We have it set so that it appears the operator is always online. But I read some notes that stated if the operator is idle for a period of time, it would show as operators NOT being online.

Thanks
Dan

Re: Upgrading from 2.4 to 2.6

Hi Danielc1234,
last version of Live helper chat is 2.62

After doing an update always do a full folder and database backup so if you have issue you can resume the previous chat.
Upgrade instruction are here:
https://livehelperchat.com/article/view/63

Hope it helps  smile

Re: Upgrading from 2.4 to 2.6

Thanks PeopleInside - but my question was, is there a way to set the software so that it looks as though an operator is always online? Our operators are logged on and if they are idle, we do not want the chat to go into offline mode.

Re: Upgrading from 2.4 to 2.6

You can set the time in settings. For more info use the demo of live helper chat so you can see under settings, live helper config and misc tab the relative option.
If you have specific question or you want reply to this question please open a GitHun topic.

I think maybe you will be able to set a long time, in my case I updated and set a long long time smile so ... I AM also using work time so no issue for me.
You can try or ask better details on GitHub https://github.com/LiveHelperChat/livehelperchat/issues as this need reply from the chat owner.

PeopleInside,
Does any of the js code for the sites need to be replaced for the 2.62 version?

Re: Upgrading from 2.4 to 2.6

Also, just did the upgrade. Is there a reason why when I answer a customer, the text is showing in grayed out italic lettering and then after a short wait, it will finally go through.

Maybe not if you do not want edit specific settings or you have issue. You do not need to replace the Embed code.

Yes there is,
the chat show to you and to visitor a gray message when you submit message but message has not yet delivered,
when the message has been delivered to the user you will see black.

On version 2.62 the live chat will try to continue to delivered gray message for a while, you will see it black only once is delivered to the visitor.
The message is gray maybe because your hosting is slow or connection is slow.
