Translation issue

Hello, i've got problem translating LHC, i've tried to desctivate cache, modify settings.ini, change language in admin site in Language configuration, but nothing works. When i made changes in site admin it returns me a blank page, and then i have to reinstall LHC to access admin part... Can you help me please?

Thank you, for reply, i've made this too and still not working, my firebug returns me an error 500 , but my server log doesn't show me any warning or error... to compare i've installed LHC under wamp and all works fine, so i'm a bit desapointed, it actually seems to be a server error but no way to find where it is... by the way thank you for your attention..
