If I add some columns on table of LHC's Database, would it affect LHC

Hello,

I wish to add some additional columns on LHC's Database (table: lh_chat_online_user or lh_chat), would it affect LHC  application ? would it lead to some bugs ? some dysfunction in the application or not ?

If you add field and set some default value, then it won't effect anything.
