Automated Hosting - Virtual hosting /Shared hosting

Does Automated hosting work on shared hosting or it has to be virtual/dedicated or cloud hosting?

I noted instruction 12 - Apache virtual host or nginx

Instruction 9 on Automated hosting - Is that 2 options (Plugins or Nginx) - Can you kindly help on the cron jobs process as i cannot tie it up with number 8 to 9

Hi,
It should work, but you may need some complex configuration like all subdomains should go to one public_html folder and manager to another one. Also you should be able to create database with your mysql username.
See docmentation for cronjob it outlines everything.

I tried installing on shared hosting (GoDaddy) but was unable to get the instances to connect due to how the server handles the incoming requests.  It is much cleaner and quicker to fire up a vps. The base server package on digitalocean with preinstalled LAMP works fine for development and testing and is only $5 USD / month.

Using cloud hosting is best option today, great server response and even provide 24 hours up time. The price rates are almost same and even less with some cloud hosting providers. I'm also using cloud hosting and I'm very happy with it.
