Is it possible to check live chat status?

Hello again. I would like to implement a separate button for live chat in my menu system in magento. Is there a way to  check whether or not live chat is available? this i can use 2 different images for its reported status.

Hi,

What I would do in your case, just use html "Native Placement" as position. and just overridelhchat/getstatus/native_placement.tpl.php - this template. I just pushed small update that everyone could override original position html.

In this case Just use lhchat/getstatus/native_placement.tpl.php
