Mobile Window to Function Similar to Zendesk?

I was wondering if there was a way to customize the chat popup window for mobile devices? Hopefully similar to zendesk, because now when a customer clicks on the X in the upper right, it completely closes out their chat. In Zendesk the have the "-" sign and an option on the left for a menu bar.
It seems we lose our customers on mobile cause after the first chat, they never respond again.

the X button will close the chat. The icon for minimize the chat is _ and not X

If you want you can use custom CSS in the widget theme or override template
