Hello,
On your livehelperchat dashboard you can have "unread messages" -block, what is purpose of this block since offline message are only delivered via email to the deparment email address?
In dashboard configuration window this block is called "unread chats" so is this block really called "unread chats" and what does "unread chats" mean? As far as I know there can only be pending, closed or active chats.

Hi,
thank you for your DETAILED question in the forum!
Great post!
Unread chat means some times you can receive (on open chat) a message from the visitor but maybe you have not the current visitor chat opened because you are in another chat or are in different screen (settings for example) of Live Helper Chat so you have unread message to read.
Unread chat is chat opened but with message not readed from the operator. Can happen sometimes you go offline but visitor has already opened the online widget and is strating a chat. The visitor will be able to start a chat but will see a message who alert no operator are connected. So all message written by the user is recorded in unread messages. Next time you log in into LHC will found unread message and chat.
Also sometimes for some settings chat can be always online and no operator reply to that chat. If there are not set a redirection to the contsact form or if there are unread message you will se in the unread message, unread chat.
Hope is more clear now. Don't worry about this. If you need this function you simply will see unread chat when you log in into operator. This means for some reason you have some unread message from a visitor and you will be able to read
