Firstly i would like to say that i went through this post
https://livehelperchat.com/how-to-use-g … -204a.html
and i've already setup SMTP through out multiple applications and even did abit of code with smtp included, so i'm posting this as my final solution.
I keep either getting Authentication failure or couldn't connect when i'm trying to use smtp.
I've already set my account to allow less secure apps (i have an smtp tester email before i use my actual email) and both didn't work, I don't have two step verification and i tried to do the captcha link in google that allows apps to connect if it's required for them and i'm totally oblivious to why this is happening.
When i type tls:// or ssl:// i get the no connection error
I tried both smtp.google.com & smtp.gmail.com.
when i use smtp.gmail.com i get authentication error, smtp.google results in no connection.
tried ports 465,587,25
So technically i'm lost on why this problem is happening.

Hi random_user,
how are you?
That's is a problem to post in the Forum and a problem I should help to fix!
What you wrote here is very strange for me because usually with people who have issue on setup SMTP tell about add ssl:// or tls:// before is the solution.
so I don't know how to help BUT I have a proposal.
Try to find me on live chat (you can follow the link on my Forum signature).
I will try to assist you when I AM online maybe I can see with you the issue in Team Viewer if you want.
From Monday (Tomorrow) I cannot give Team Viewer and maybe live chat help because I will be in vacation so stop to have the right Internet to do this.
If the live chat is offline you can open a ticket and try to wait 10 minutes in the page or monitor the next 20 minutes after creating the ticket. You will maybe receice an immediatly reply to the ticket and I will turn the chat on for 30 minutes so you will be able to start a chat with me.
Otherwise I don't know why you are unable to use SMTP.
you don't have to put only ssl:// but ssl://smtp.google.com port 465 should work.
I Am not using Google SMTP so I cannot see on my side.

I would like to apologize and thank you since it's currently working on my work PC (was testing with my home laptop),
the current settings are
ssl://smtp.gmail.com (just smtp.gmail.com gives authentication failure)
instead of
ssl://smtp.google.com (always results in connection error in any format, tls ssl none)
as mentioned by google in https://support.google.com/a/answer/176600?hl=en
I think i made a mistake with not including ssl:// -> gmail and only tried it with ssl:// -> google.com ( was trying it out at 2 AM so i don't think i tried all the combinations and my laptop has issues with connections sometimes although telnet worked as mentioned by google to test it out)
If you don't mind i would request you to update the tutorial page to include the correct link
Again thank you for your support i appreciate, it made me find my personal error!
Edit:
The tutorial post has the correct link in the image but not the text
