the use of This field is invisible but prefilled data is collected ?

Hello,
The idea of the This field is invisible but prefilled data is collected seems good, it would be helpful to pass user details from the online form to the offline form, but why would it be made invisible?
It would be better to prefill the fields but still let the customers view and edit it on the offline form.
