SMTP Error: Could not connect to SMTP host

Hi Admin,

I went to (admin portal)Home>System configuration>Mail settings, and typed

       1. my gmail address in the login input box

       2. my gmail password, in the password input box

       3. tls://smtp.gmail.com in the Host input box

       4. 587(or 465) in the Port input box

However, after clicking the "test" button, it constantly shows me "SMTP Error: Could not connect to SMTP host."

I have no idea at this moment, what shall I do now?

Thank you very much for your question!

Gmail is very difficult or maybe impossible sometimes to configure in non Gmail server for send emails by SMTP.
Have you tried to generate a specific app password?
You need have the two step verification active on Google account.
