Assigning customer to department by geo location

Hey,
I have to configure departments by countries, because i support different countries.
When a customer enters my website and puts his details in the chat widget, I want him to be auto-assigned to a department by the customer's country (detected with geo ip).
If a suitable department is not found, he'll be assigned to a default department.

Is there a way to do it without extending the code?
And if I do have to extend the code - is there a recommended way?

I am not sure what you are asking is supported. You can let user choose the right department but auto detect this I think needs a commercial customization if is possible or you can try to ask the feature in GitHub but to develop this can be neded long time, no guarantee.
