I think he's just trolling. He said in a couple of days but it has been more than 2 weeks.

Hello Guys,

Sorry for the delay. I wasn't trolling. I had to pause the development to focus on my exams because I needed to pass  smile

I have resumed work on the app. But I won't make any promise on the time again in order not to disappoint.

Thank you

Is there a place where we can see the process? Something like trello maybe. Also will it be open source? I don't mind paying for it on play store, but just curious because if it is, other users can contribute and it will be finished faster.

Hey guys,

I have updated the link for the new app. It is for testing preview for now. I would be glad for feedback since I have only tested it on Android 5 and 4.4 so I do not know how it behaves on other versions.

Thanks

Re: New Update - (in-app notification) - Updated 19-10-2018

I came to LiveHelperChat from a different platform. We have been impressed so far so we decided to adapt our app for the other platform to work with LiveHelperChat. This integration is still in beta but the app (Wurrd) is publicly available from the Play store for testing.

Check out this thread for details

Hello,
Thank you very much for the feedback.

Have you already installed the gcm extension in your lhc web app? If you have, you also need to register for push in the android app under the app menu.

The instructions are in the first post.

If you have done all the above and you still do not receive the notifications then I will work on it and upload an update soon.

Regards

Friend did the following:

1. Paste the extension gcm:

xxx/extension/gcm

2. Enable it to: settings.ini.php

'extensions' => array (0 => 'gcm')

3. Income from the cellular to the application, I press the button: REGISTER WITH GCM/SERVER

but does not suffer any positive change, ie push notifications not even get my cell even in the chats and pending

4. I check in the file  settings.php the gcm  and this is its content

<?php
return array (
  'google_api_key' => 'AIzaSyAeuzXn29YybxGtdSgUAhKl2w9a-HeeIco',
  'gcm_reg_id' =>
  array (
     ),
)
?>

My phone is Samsung and has Android 6.0

I appreciate your help please as this tool is super important to me ... Likewise congratulate you on such an important contribution.

Regards,

Oswald

Re: New Update - (in-app notification) - Updated 19-10-2018

Hello,
The content of the settings.php shows that your gcm registration was not successful.

There should be a value in this section

  'gcm_reg_id' =>
  array (
     ),

I will check for a solution.

You can enter manually? You can explain what would be the syntax?

Did you try to "REGISTER WITH GCM/SERVER" ?

I guess after registering it should be associated in the server to push messages serve; but this does not work, it would be important if we confirm as do manual registration.

Re: New Update - (in-app notification) - Updated 19-10-2018

Ok, I have both the old and the new versions installed and successfully registered in the settings.php file. The new app doesn't receive neither notifications nor does a chat appear in the pending or unread list. The old one works as it has before - from time to time it receives chats with latency, some messages are lost on the way, though and they never get to the particular chat. Connection is stable so that's clearly not the issue.

Edit: I will try to spare some time in the next days to test the app more extensively with a live adb logcat to see if something comes up.

Hello ***,

I would suggest that you also try the Android app in this thread to see how well it works for you. So far it is working for some of us. Setup instructions are all available in the thread.

Re: New Update - (in-app notification) - Updated 19-10-2018

Hello,
I'm stuck ad point 4

4. Open Settings in livehelp app and Select GCM

I open it but I am shown a login form with username/passwor/server url fields.

I put correct username and password and
serverurl= "http://www.mysite.com/chat"

after submitting I am returned with message: "Something went wrong". The login was  not succesful
I am pretty sure it was.

Curl is enabled and gcm extension also in chat\settings\settings.ini.php
<code>
      'extensions' =>
      array (
        0=>'gcm'
      ),
</code>

So I cannot go to
" Open Settings in livehelp app and Select GCM registration. "

Any hint please?

Re: New Update - (in-app notification) - Updated 19-10-2018

Hello ***,

If login is unsuccessful confirm that you are using the correct username/password.
Also, did you check the "add index.php to url" in case you need it?
In my test, I had a problem with an HTTPS server, but didn't spend much time on it to determine whether it was a username/password issue or the SSL certificate.

By the way, as I mentioned above, you should also check out the Wurrd app to see if that works for you. https://forum.livehelperchat.com/viewtopic.php?id=2132
A video has also been put together to show how the app works. https://youtu.be/jY02VMGA7OA

Please, man, enough with the wurrd app already... we're trying to have a discussion here. I DID try it, and didn't really like it and you know why. let me not speak it out loud, but just enough is enough you don't need to say again and again and again.

Re: New Update - (in-app notification) - Updated 19-10-2018

*** just to make sure the url is not the problem you should open your live helper admin page copy that address and then strip everything on the right from index.php leaving it just http://www.mysite.com/index.php for example and mind that in some cases the additional www. might mess the url recognition depending on your server setup. Try that and then report back smile

Promoting the same thing several times over and over again is not really help. The forementioned app doesn't work with livehelperchat servers. Consider getting yourself familiar before posting useless stuff - that's really not of any help to anyone either... just an advice and I am done discussing this.

Well his app is working fine for me. Well you can just ignore it if you don't like it. You don't have to be impolite. At least he is contributing to LHC in some ways (his client).
